Reformation Overview
The details of the Reformation tell a story that extols the praises of God in the vastest convergence of divine grace outpoured in nearly two thousand years. It is a marvelous display of providence. A dizzying diversity of factors are orchestrated by the invisible hand of God, directed to one massive aim. It is a story involving individuals, groups, families, parliaments, states, laws, traditions, academics, economics, culture, customs, social and political powers, intellectual influences, technologies, art, music, geographies, weather, natural disasters and diseases, and a host of other attending circumstances. It is a story that is otherwise filled with impossible odds. It features individuals raised up by God to stand against the tide of apostasy by living and dying for the truth of Christ. The effects of this history are still being felt today, even if the world does not recognize it.
